Father of missing Donegal man appeals for help in finding body

The father of a missing Donegal man says he has given up all hope of finding his son alive.

Twenty-two-year-old David Colhoun from Lifford escaped from PSNI custody in Strabane in the early hours of Sunday morning and has not been seen since.

His father Joseph said he did not find out that his son escaped from custody until 5pm on Sunday.

It is thought the 22-year-old tried to cross a local river to get across the border.

The PSNI has been heavily criticised for its lack of help regarding the search.

Joseph Colhoun said he had lost all hope of finding his son alive, and made an emotional appeal on Highland Radio for professional divers to help him in his search for his missing son.
