A British Airways flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport last night.

A British Airways flight was forced to make an emergency landing at Shannon Airport last night.

The Boeing 777 which was en route from Heathrow to Boston, with more than 200 passengers on board, developed technical difficulties shortly after take-off.

However, it landed safely at the Mid West Airport shortly after midnight.

Passengers and crew were accommodated in nearby hotels and a relief aircraft is due later in the day.
