A 12-year-old boy has died after falling off a scrambler motorbike in north Belfast.

A 12-year-old boy has died after falling off a scrambler motorbike in north Belfast.

He was fatally injured in the incident in the Mountcollyer area of Ballysillan around 9.15pm yesterday and died later in hospital.

It is understood he was a pillion passenger on one of two scramblers being ridden in the area at the time.

Police, who have appealed for witnesses, particularly want to hear from the youths who were involved in riding the scramblers and their parents.
