An attempt to airlift an injured man from near Carrauntoohill in Co Kerry has failed this evening because the ground is too steep.

An attempt to airlift an injured man from near Carrauntoohill in Co Kerry has failed this evening because the ground is too steep.

A Kerry Mountain Rescue team is now stretchering the man to a level the helicopter will be better able to reach.

The alarm was raised at 3pm this afternoon when the man in his 60s suffered a fall on the Hag's Tooth Ridge.
