16,000 training places to be funded under jobs initiative

Almost 16,000 training and education places and €40m in funding for school building works have been announced by Education and Skills Minister Ruairi Quinn as part of the Government’s jobs initiative.

Mr Quinn said: "The Programme for Government pledged to deliver an additional 15,000 places in training, work experience and educational opportunities within our first 100 days in office.
