Woman held in connection with Ronan Kerr murder

A woman was arrested today by police investigating the murder of 25-year-old police officer Ronan Kerr.

A woman was arrested today by police investigating the murder of 25-year-old police officer Ronan Kerr.

The 36-year-old was detained in Pomeroy, Co Tyrone, 15 miles from Omagh where the Catholic PSNI constable was killed by a bomb which exploded under his car on April 2.

The bomb was planted by dissident republicans opposed to the peace process.

One man, Gavin Coyle, 33, from Omagh, is facing a series of explosives and firearms charges after being detained by detectives investigating Constable Kerr’s murder.
