Brown Thomas owner is richest person in Ireland

The richest person in Ireland has more than €6bn, according to today's Sunday Times rich list.

The list shows retailer Hilary Weston, who is a part-owner of Brown Thomas, at the top of the pile.

The drop in the value of properties has meanwhile caused 35 people to drop off the list this year.

There were some high-profile casualties with Ryanair's Michael O'Leary taking a 10% hit, leaving him with €384m.
