Limerick city resident evacuated after Mungret Street fire

A number of people have been evacuated from their homes after a fire broke out in Limerick City tonight.

Firefighters are continuing to fight the blaze after it broke out in a former carpet store on Mungret Street at around 7.15pm.

Those evaucated are being treated for shock and smoke inhalation.

The street remains sealed off by gardaí who are investigating the blaze.
