Liam Adams, who is being sought in the North on rape and indecent assault charges against his daughter, has had extradition proceedings against him further adjourned for three weeks.

Mr Adams, the brother of Sinn Féin TD Gerry Adams, is wanted in the North to face multiple charges of rape, indecent assault and gross indecency against his daughter, Aine Tyrell, who has waived her right to anonymity.

He denies all the charges and is contesting the request for his surrender.

Mr Remy Farrell BL, for the Minister, said the final affidavit had been served on Mr Adams and a three-week adjournment would afford the respondent adequate time to consider the documents.

Mr Justice John Edwards remanded Mr Adams, who was present in court for today’s hearing, on continuing bail and listed the case for mention on May 25.
