Counting of votes cast in the Seanad election is due to resume at around 10am this morning.
The remaining nine seats on the Agricultural panel are to be decided today.
Last night the first seven Senators were announced. They will sit on the Cultural and Educational, and Agricultural panels.
Labour's James Heffernan took the first seat on the Agricultural panel, with Fine Gael's Paddy Burke was elected after midnight last night.
Earlier, the five seats on the Educational and Cultural panel went to Fianna Fáil's Labhrás Ó Murchú and Thomas Byrne, Fine Gael's Michael Mullins and Deirdre Clune and Labour's John Gilroy.
In all, 122 candidates are contesting 43 out of 60 Seanad seats.
