Teenager charged with David Byrne murder
A 17-year-old youth appeared in court last night charged with the murder of David Byrne in Dublin last month.
The 19-year-old was killed in the car park of an apartment block in Emmet Court, Inchicore on March 19.
Gardaí believe Mr Byrne left his home at the Davitt House complex in Drimnagh, just after 10pm on Saturday, March 19.
He was chased by a group of youths across a bridge over the Grand Canal and into the nearby Emmet Court apartment block in Inchicore, where he was stabbed several times in the back and side.
When gardaí and paramedics arrived at the scene just before 10.30pm Mr Byrne was still alive. He was rushed to St James Hospital where he later died.
Last night a 17-year-old appeared in court charged with David Byrne's murder.
He was remanded in custody to appear before the Childrens Court on April 28.
