Group urges Kenny to demand release of files on bombings

The group representing families of the victims of the Dublin and Monaghan Bombings have said the Taoiseach will be letting himself and the Irish people down if he does not demand the release of British Government files on the attacks.

Enda Kenny is holding his first formal meeting with the British Prime Minister in Downing Street today, and campaign group "Justice for the Forgotten" want him to ask David Cameron to release secret government files on the bombings.

Mr Kenny said the issue "may come up" during discussions on the North, however it is not formally on the agenda for the talks.

But Bernie McNally from Justice for the Forgotten has said the Taoiseach must raise the issue.

Ms McNally said: "We have been on to the Taoiseach's office, we have written to him and asked him to bring it up. We have also written to Mr Cameron and told him to expect it to be brought up.

"He is letting himself and his citizens down by not putting this very important issue forward."
