Post Offices urge Govt to include them in banking reform
Post Offices want to be central to any reform of the banking system in Ireland.
The Irish Postmasters Union said its network is larger than the 900 branches held by the country's main banks combined, so it has the greatest capacity to deliver financial services.
As it stands, post offices provide banking transactions to AIB and National Irish Bank customers.
General Secretary of the IPU Brian McGann said expanding these services will also create jobs.
