Queen visit an opportunity to open files on bombings

The Queen of England's upcoming visit to Ireland marks an opportunity for the British government to open files on the Dublin and Monaghan bombings, a group has said today.

The Queen of England is due to visit Ireland on the May 17, the same day that marks the 37th Anniversary of the atrocities.

Justice for the Forgotten, a group that campaigns on behalf of those affected by the attacks, wants David Cameron to use the opportunity to provide documentation for another investigation.

"This would be a marvellous gesture of reconciliation if this were to be announced to coincide with Queen Elizabeth's visit," said Margaret Urwin of Justice for the Forgotten.
