Gardaí are still hunting for the armed gang who fled empty-handed after the botched tiger kidnapping in Fennor, Co Kildare on Monday.

They are also looking for witnesses who may have seen suspicious activity along the route between the An Post employee's home in Fennor and the GPO in Dublin from 9.30pm onwards on Monday night.

The raiders fled after the employee's wife managed to free herself on Tuesday morning and contacted gardaí.

Detectives are trying to trace the movements of the family's two cars involved in the incident - a silver Honda CRV and a silver Mercedes, which was found burnt out Boroimhe, Co Dublin.
