Rail commuters can expect delays of between 30 and 40 minutes in services between Cork, Kerry and Limerick and Dublin's Heuston station due to vandalism of signalling equipment overnight.

Vandals targeted signalling equipment between Limerick and Thurles junction.

Iarnród Éireann spokeswoman Jane Cregan said engineers were working to rectify the situation.
