Concern over missing Clare woman

Gardaí in Clare are appealing for information on the whereabouts of a missing Ballyvaughan woman.

Deirdre McCarthy has not been seen since Sunday night when she returned to her home at Turlough House on the Lisdoonvarna Road in Ballyvaughan after a night out locally.

The 43-year-old failed to attend an appoinment yesterday morning, prompting her family to raise the alarm.

Searches involving gardaí and the rescue services have been taking place in the area and will continue today.
