€3.8m the aim for Daffodil Day

The Irish Cancer Society hopes to raise more than €3.8m at this year's Daffodil Day, which is today.

Thousands of fundraising activities will take place across the country today to help raise vital funds for the organisation.

Many groups and organisations will also be holding their own fundraising events - such as "The Aviva Leg Waxing Heroes" which is taking place at 12 noon at the Aviva Head Office in Dublin.

Participant Alan Tyrell urged everyone to support the worthy cause, saying: "This is a fantastic opportunity…to support the Irish Cancer Society."
