Body found washed up on Clare coast

Gardaí have launched an investigation after a body was discovered washed up on rocks on the Co. Clare coast this afternoon.

A man found the body at around pm today, at Clahane, near Liscannor.

The body was recovered by gardaí and members of the Doolin Coast Guard.

It is understood the body had been in the water for some time.

The State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy has been notified.

Gardaí say they are not treating the death as suspicious.
