O'Sullivan named as first female Deputy Garda Commissioner

Noirin O'Sullivan has been named as the new Deputy Garda Commissioner.

She is the first woman to ever reach such a high rank in the force.

A native of Co Dublin, Ms O’Sullivan has served with the gardaí since 1981 in various postings around Dublin and in Tipperary.
