Gardaí in Co Louth are continuing to search for four children, who they say were taken from their home in Ardee on Thursday by a man in his 30s, who was known to them.

Gardaí in Co Louth are continuing to search for four children, who they say were taken from their home in Ardee on Thursday by a man in his 30s, who was known to them.

It is thought the three girls and one boy, who are aged between one and 12 years, could now be in the North.

The 30-year-old man, named Steven Appleton is driving an English registered, silver coloured Vauxhall Zafira - registration number DY 08 JYF.

Gardaí have asked anyone who sees this car or knows of the children's whereabouts to contact Ardee Garda Station on 041 687 11 30.
