Gardaí appeal for witnesses to shooting

Gardaí investigating the shooting that occurred at An Grianan Fidh, Aikens Village, Sandyford, Dublin 18 this morning have appealed to the public for assistance.

A silver Ford Mondeo car registration 99 D 47450 which was used by the suspects was abandoned at the scene and two males ran from the car in the direction of Sandyford Hall Estate towards Kilgobbin Rd / Murphystown Road.

They may have entered another car or taxi after this. Gardaí want to speak to anyone who may have seen them.

In addition, gardaí are attempting to trace the movements of this silver Ford Mondeo before the incident and any unusual or suspicious activity that may have been seen in and around Aiken Estate in the day leading up to the shooting.

A male in his early 40s was arrested today in relation to the shooting and is being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Blackrock garda station.
