Self-harm conference to focus on new treatments
A conference on self-injury taking place in Trinity College in Dublin today will look at recommendations for new approaches to treatment.
Dr Kay Inckle, based in the School of Social Work and Social Policy in Trinity, has said that a lot of people do not know what self-harming is.
She said it is not to be mixed up with a suicide attempt and that it is a coping mechanism, treatment of which lies in dealing with the stress the person is experiencing.
