Councillor refuses to pay fine for Harney paint attack
Dublin City Councillor Louise Minihan is refusing to pay a fine of €1,500 she received in court last Friday, for splattering red paint on the former Health Minister Mary Harney.
The Éirigí councillor was convicted of both assaulting and causing criminal damage to Ms. Harney and was given a fine and a two-month suspended sentence.
However this evening Cllr Minihan said her actions were a “legitimate form of political protest” and that she had “no intention” of paying the fine.
