Rehn: Interest rate on bailout package to be discussed

Europe's Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Oli Rehn has said a lowering of the interest rate of Ireland's bailout package will be discussed.

Europe's Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Oli Rehn has said a lowering of the interest rate of Ireland's bailout package will be discussed.

Mr Rehn has told a press conference today that the European Union has a "common goal" for Ireland , to revive its growth dynamic and ensure "debt sustainability".

However, Commissioner Rehn has again stated that any change to pricing policy would be discussed in an overall European context, and not exclusively focus on Ireland's interest rate.
