Shane Ross says he's "no George Lee", and will stay in the Dáil for as long as his supporters want him there.

Independent candidate Ross is awaiting the result of the first count in Dublin South this afternoon, but the tallies indicate he has won nearly a quarter of the vote.

The Independent candidate is determined that his stint in the Dáil will be longer-lasting than that of George Lee, who also represented that constituency.
