Heydon likely to top the poll in Kildare South
Fine Gael councillor Martin Heydon looks set to top the poll in Kildare South and win back the seat lost by Alan Dukes in 2002.
According to tallies, councillor Heydon will win the seat easily on the first count, along with outgoing Labour Deputy Jack Wall.
The third seat currently looks set to be a contest between outgoing Fianna Fáil deputies Sean Power and Sean O'Fearghail.
Martin Heydon said he was humbled by the early indications, and conscious of the great responsibility it placed on him.
