Polish man to be sentenced for ferry death

A 38-year-old Polish motorist will be sentenced today for the manslaughter of another man who drowned when his car left the cross-river ferry in Cork Harbour.

A 38-year-old Polish motorist will be sentenced today for the manslaughter of another man who drowned when his car left the cross-river ferry in Cork Harbour.

Sebastian Loniewski pleaded guilty last November to the manslaughter of Krystian Mielnik at the River Lee, Cobh on March 8, 2009.

Mr Mielnik's family will travel to Cork for today’s sentencing at the Washington Street Courthouse.
