Kenny returns to constituency as campaign continues

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny is spending his first full day in his constituency as campaigning for the General Election enters the home straight.

After a ceasefire yesterday, the war of words between Labour and Fine Gael War will resume today, with the latter's proposed "graduate tax" coming under scrutiny.

Labour is to launch a poster highlighting what it says will be around €12,000 of debt on college students at the start of their careers.

Party leader Eamon Gilmore is spending the day canvassing in his Dun Laoghaire constituency.

Fianna Fáíl leader Micheál Martin is on the hustings in two cork constituencies, though neither are his own.

Fine Gael will focus on how they propose to make savings of €1bn by tackling welfare fraud.

Mr Kenny is back in Mayo for the first and probably only full day he will spend campaigning here, which will include a rally in Castlebar.
