Begg demands explanation of FG 'vested interests' comment

The Irish Congress of Trade Unions wants the Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny to explain what he meant when he said that unions' "vested interests" contributed to the economic crisis.

General secretary of ICTU David Begg has warned that in the absence of an explanation, he will advise all ICTU members of the Fine Gael position ahead of voting next Friday.
