HSE to save €30m a year with double jobbing ban
The Health Service Executive is to ban the practice of double jobbing.
The HSE has negotiated new contracts to reduce the number of agencies supplying staff - including nurses and junior doctors - from more than 30 to a maximum of 12, saving more than €30m a year.
As part of the deal, people employed by the HSE or HSE-funded agencies will not be able to work for outside agencies and the HSE at the same time, except when they retire.
