German man to be sentenced on cannabis charge

A German man is to be sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in May for attempting to import €30,000 worth of herbal cannabis into Ireland.

Jorg Kosterke (aged 47), a father of seven with an address in Bavaria, pleaded guilty to importing cannabis for sale or supply at Dublin Airport on November 6, 2009.

Judge Desmond Hogan adjourned sentencing until May 3 next to allow reports be prepared.
