Statement by An Taoiseach Brian Cowen

In the next few weeks, the people of this country will be asked to vote in a very important General Election. Decisions have to be made which will affect all citizens, both now and into our future.

I hope that all those involved in the campaign treat the issues with the respect, consideration and measured analysis they deserve.
