Two Dublin brothers accused of murdering a father of six over four years ago, are due to go on trial at the Central Criminal Court on Thursday next.

Two Dublin brothers accused of murdering a father of six over four years ago, are due to go on trial at the Central Criminal Court on Thursday next.

Warren and Jeffrey Dumbrell, of Emmet Place in Inchicore, have both pleaded not guilty to the murder of 36-year-old Christopher Cawley in October 2006.

Mr Cawley was attacked and fatally stabbed on the stairway of the flat complex where he lived at Tyrone Place in Inchicore.

The brothers, aged 36 and 30, and both wearing white shirts and black blazers, appeared briefly in the court today where one after the other they stood and separately pleaded not guilty to the murder.

A jury of six men and six women was then sworn in for the trial. which is expected to take up to three weeks.
