Dublin hosts major diabetes conference today

A conference of some of the world's leading medics and experts in diabetes is taking place in Dublin today.

The gathering will be the largest ever of diabetes medical authorities in Ireland.

In Ireland, the prevalence of diabetes is predicted to be nearly 200,000 by 2015.

World experts will examine potential cures and treatments for the disease which can cause blindness and death in cases that go untreated.
