Jury fails to reach verdict in rape trial

A jury has failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a man accused of raping a woman as she lay beside her boyfriend in a Tipperary hotel room

The jury of six men and six women deliberated for three and a half hours before telling Mr Justice Paul Carney that they would not be able to agree on a verdict.
