Lenihan: No medical reason not to stand

Brian Lenihan has said doctors have confirmed he is in a position to contest for the Fianna Fáil party leadership and continue in political life.

He said his pancreatic cancer tumour had reduced in size and that his energy levels had been restored.

Mr Lenihan made his comments as he launched his campaign for the leadership today.
