Chief Whip Curran: Mechanism is there for another heave

Government Chief Whip John Curran, who supported the Taoiseach during this week's confidence motion, has said another motion of confidence in the Taoiseach could be accommodated.

Government Chief Whip John Curran, who supported the Taoiseach during this week's confidence motion, has said another motion of confidence in the Taoiseach could be accommodated.

He says Fianna Fáil was a democratic party and that the mechanism was there for a move against the Taoiseach.

"If members bring forward a motion at a parliamentary party meeting …and put it on the agenda, of course it will be reviewed. We are a democratic party," he said.
