Cowen gets good reception at FF meeting

Fianna Fáil backbencher Charlie O'Connor has said the Taoiseach Brian Cowen is being well received by the party at their meeting which is underway in Leinster House.

Both supporters of Brian Cowen, and those of his challenger Michael Martin have said they have the numbers to win tonight.

Earlier, Mr Cowen received the backing of the Finance Minister Brian Lenihan.

However, several backbenchers have since turned on Minister Lenihan accusing him of misleading them.
