Women rescued from the sea in Dublin
A woman has been rescued this evening by the Howth Coast Guard after she was spotted near the wooden bridge in Dollymount in North Dublin.
Shortly after 6pm the rescue team responded to a Garda alert of a missing person in the area and were on the scene within minutes.
Witnesses confirmed to Gardaí that they saw a person walking in the shallow water near the Clontarf seafront but had lost sight of them in the fading light.
After twenty minutes one of the Coast Guard teams spotted an object in the water between the Clontarf Seafront and Dublin Port.
The Garda helicopter which was also on scene confirmed a female was in the water up their waist and appeared disoriented.
The casualty who was in a cold confused condition was transported to a nearby ambulance and rushed to hospital.
