The 40-year-old male victim remains in a critical but stable condition following the attack.

At 8.30pm on Thursday night, a man was standing outside the Cappagh House pub on Barry Road in Finglas when a car drove towards him.

The front seat passenger got out and fired a number of shots into his victim's upper body.

The man, who is from the Finglas area, was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The black Volkswagen Golf estate, with a 98 D registration - believed to have been used as the getaway car - was located in the Charlestown area of Finglas the next day.
