Body of elderly woman found in Ennis hospital chapel
The body of an elderly woman has been found in a hospital chapel in Co Clare however her death is not being treated as suspicious.
The discovery was made early this morning when staff went to open the chapel at Ennis General Hospital.
The pensioner, who was not a patient at the hospital, was discovered lying on the floor beneath a timber bench.
The woman, who lived nearby, was reported missing last night.
The body has been removed to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for a post mortem examination.
Gardaí have confirmed that the death is not suspicious and are treating the matter as a sudden death.
