Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man was wounded in a shooting incident in Dublin this evening.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a man was wounded in a shooting incident in Dublin this evening.

The incident happened at the Cappagh House pub in Finglas at about 8.30pm when at least one gunman opened fire inside the bar.

Several shots were fired and the man, who is in his 40s, was hit a number of times.

He was rushed to Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown for treatment.

The scene has been sealed off and Gardaí are trying to identify and interview everyone who was in the pub at the time.

They have also appealed for any witnesses to the incident to contact them at Finglas Garda station.
