Gardaí in Dublin have launched an investigation after the death of a woman in West Dublin last night.

It follows an incident at a house in Clonsilla in Station Court Hall where gardaí responded to a report of a woman who was seriously injured at 9.20pm.

A doctor was called and pronounced the 52-year-old dead.

The State Pathologist has been notified and the scene is sealed off for examination by the Garda technical bureau.

A 32-year old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being held at Blanchardstown garda station.
