Man critical after road accident

A 20-year old man is in a critical condition in hospital after been knocked down on the Limerick-Newport Road this morning.

The pedestrian and a van were in collision near a railway crossing at 4.30am this morning.

The stretch of road where the incident occurred has re-opened after a Garda technical investigation was completed.

A man has been helping gardaí with their enquiries.
