Organisers of today's students protest in Cork believe it will be a peaceful event.

Organisers of today's students protest in Cork believe it will be a peaceful event.

Hundreds are expected to take part in the march involving students from CIT and UCC.

The protest starts at 11am in CIT, moves to UCC at noon and culminates in a rally at Grand Parade at 2pm.

"We’ve put everything possible in place to make sure that nothing will happens," said deputy president of UCC Students Union Daithi Linnane.
