The minimum wage is to be cut by €1 to €7.65, and student contributions will be increased as part of the four-year plan unveiled today by the Government.

The plan is short on specifics in some areas - including the specific cost of the increase to the student contribution, but Finance Minister Brian Lenihan said this detail would be revealed (where next year) is concerned, as part of the Budget 2011 announcements on December 7.
