Family spared eviction over €37k mortgage arrears
A couple who owe €37,000 in mortgage arrears to the EBS have been spared eviction from their Dublin home this weekend.
The High Court has ruled that unemployed business consultant Peter Byas and his wife Anne can bring a full legal challenge to the county registrar’s order for repossession.
Until their case is decided, the couple and their three children can stay on in their home on the Navan Road which they purchased for €670,000 in 2004.
They are being represented by a newly formed legal group called "New Beginning" who are working pro bono to help homeowners who find themselves in difficulty.
