Van Rompuy: EU in 'survival crisis'

The European Council President has said the EU is not being complacent about member states' financial difficulties.

Herman Van Rompuy was speaking in Brussels at the start of a series of meetings involving Finance Ministers from across the eurozone, where Ireland's financial difficulties are expected to be high on the agenda.
