Woman whose body went missing from Kenmare to be laid to rest
A 91-year-old woman whose body went missing after she died on holiday in Malta two months ago will finally be laid to rest in the coming days.
The remains of Gladys Whigham have now been surrendered to British authorities, after last being seen in Kenmare, Co Kerry last month.
Her son had brought her remains back to Ireland via London, where Ms Whigham spent much of her life.
But when the Kerry coroner informed the man that his mother's body would have to be buried or cremated after being laid out in a rented house for two weeks, the man - and his deceased mother - vanished.
It is thought most likely that Ms Whigham will be cremated or buried in London.
